For the first time, the iPhone 4S is not the top selling smartphone in the Canaccord Genuity's Michael Walkey. The top best smartphones of the summer of 2012 were represented by many manufacturers with Android the most mentioned operating system. The company checks stores over the country to find out the bestsllers.
It could be that iPhone Phans are waiting to the next iPhone 5 release date while the Samsung Galaxy S III was released and highly promoted this summer. The Samsung Galaxy S III can also be found discounted and the iPhone is never reduced. There was also good news for Windows Phones, The Nokia Lumia 900 made an appearance in the top three.
Walkley noted that in October the iPhone 5 will make a big come back with 4G LTE access and a larger form factor.

The iPhone 5 is going to turn the Samsung Galaxy into a black hole and take the hole market.
Because somehow, people who JUST bought a Samsung Galaxy s3 and HTC One X/Evo LTE (which is actually far better than the iPhone 4s spec-wise.... FAR better... despite what this article says...)are going to ditch the device for the iPhone 5. Contrary to popular belief, not everybody is dumb enough to simply go buy the next iProduct every time one comes out just because APPLE (and fanboys) say that it is a better device. It is a matter of preference.... not a matter of one being miles better. The iPhone 5 will be comparable to the new Android devices.
I'm sticking with T-Mobile, we don't need iPhones. Android is cheaper and comes in more sizes and colors, icluding Magenta----for T-Mobile.
The market is getting more fragmented. With the new Verizon plans people don't want to give up their unlimited plans so they are keeping their smartphones longer.
Once the carriers stop subsidizing smartphones, there won't be a lot of people who will pay $700 for an iPhone, even if it has a 4" screen.
If you look at the top phones they are all cheaper and bigger than the iPhone. Why pay more money for a one bedroom apartment when you can get a whole house for less?
I don't care how much it costs, I'm still going to buy the new iPhone when it comes out.
The iPhone 5 is going to turn the Samsung Galaxy into a black hole and take the hole market.
Don't hold your breath , lol
the reason the iphone was never reduced was because of it's huge production costs. You know that little apple logo on the back? that itself cost so much to manufacture, for you see, it is made out of 100% pure bullsh*t
