Over a year after its release date the Droid Bionic is f-i-n-a-l-l-y getting updated for Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich from Verizon Wireless.
The update 6.7.246.XT875.Verizon.en.US Along with updating to Android 4.04. Verizon typically rolls out updates over time, starting in the middle of the week and pushing out in greater numbers over the weekend.
It is always a good idea to backup your data before starting an update. Also make sure that your Droid bionic is at least 50% charged, if you are roaming, connect to Wi-Fi to get the update.
It will take you approximately 10-15 minutes to download the software, depending on network conditions and another
5-10 minutes to install. You will be unable to make or receive calls, including emergency calls during the update.
To Check for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update:
- From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > tap Settings > About phone > System Updates > Download.
- Once the software download is complete, tap Install now. Once installation is complete the device powers off and back on again to finalize the installation. You will see a confirmation on the home screen that your install was successful, tap Ok.

Amazon Kindle, GoTo Meeting, Blockbuster and Citrix have been updates.
Features that have been enhanced or stabilized include, Google Calendar, mobile hotpsots, global roaming notifications, backup assistant, auto restore and Facebook account delete/add.
The update fixes the AOL emails errors, text message delivery and Visual Voicemail reliability.
