The Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR HD Maxx will be released tomorrow from Verizon Wireless.
Early reviews of the latest Droid RAZR HD models show the following to be the best features:
- Kevlar and case - the style and texture best the plasticky build of other makers.
- Premium dark (bad ass) look
- Snappy processor.
- Long battery life.
- Strong feel.
- Beautiful pixel-peepers' loved display.
- Clean almost pure Android OS.
Reviewers did not like:
- The Droid RAZR HD ships with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich not Jelly Bean.
- Pentile Super AMOLED display isn't as good as the iPhone 5, HTC One X or Atrix HD.
- Lack of removable battery.
Comparisons of features of the iPhone 5 vs the Droid RAZR MAXX HD note that Droid RAZR MAXX HD comes with 32 GB, NFC, DLNA/HDMI, 4.7" touchscreen and a 3300mAh battery. The Droid RAZR HD has 2r hours of battery with a 2530mAh battery.
The Droid RAZR HD/MAXX have many features you will not find in the iPhone 5 including Google Maps, YouTube App, microSD card slot, NFC, water resistant coating on circuitry and much longer of talk time/battery life.
The iPhone 5 supports Wi-Fi in 2.4 and 5GHz bands which the Droid RAZR HD/MAXX do not. Because the Droid RAZR M has a similar screen size, we thought it offered a truer comparison to the iPhone 5.
Features of the Droid RAZR HD and MAXX include 1.5GHz dual core processor, HDMI, DLNA, NFC, Bluetooth, 8MP camera, front camera, 1080p video capture 1GB RAM, microSD card, aGPS, 4G LTE access and Wi-Fi. A video from Motorola claims that the Droid RAZR M/HD/Maxx will melt your brain.
We will have full reviews later own, until then happy WiMoing.
When will we get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean?
I'm going to wait until we find out more about the Nexus 4.
The Droid RAZR HD is way too big to fit in a pocket...
I need the big screen, I just get pants with bigger pockets.
Someone should invent pants so that you watch video in your pocket while you are at work.
Has any one used these under water or seen how they handle a drop test. I'm sick of replacing expensive phones because I dropped them.
I have dunked my original razor into a dog dish of water while camping... that nano coating made the water pool up in the ports as if it was mercury. NOT ONE PROBLEM! my heart stopped though as it happened. The mic, speaker, hdmi, usb, headphone etc. water just looked like a mercury blob and fell out. The headphone was worst cause it lets the water in to the case more, but it's been fine since May.
I've also had the dog knock it out of my hand at a gravel pit of all places, and across the busted rocks it got one nick in the plastic on the corner but the screen and back were fine. I have to point out the nick for people to even find it.
Moto Razr is a nice bit of hardware. Great phones for camping.
I aint got no pockets
