The demise of the Webtop and whole docking system for high-end Motorola smartphones is now official. It is also very irritating to those who bought laptop dock, lapdocks and other docks from Motorola for earlier devices.
Last week customers learned that Motorola would not update the Motorola Photon (Fauxton), Motorola Atrix (Mo’ Accessories Up Ur A-Tricks 4G) and Motorola Electrify(Electric-Foe) to Android 4.o4 Ice Cream Sandwich causing outrage in owners who spend hundreds of dollars for lapdocks and other accessories.
Some are saying that Google killed the Webtop because Firefox competes with Google Chrome and Chromebooks. The Webtop apps turned smartphones into PCs when connected to a laptop dock or PC Monitor. The Motorola Atrix received many awards for the concept.
Motorola has confirmed that adoption was not strong enough to continue making the devices and software. Android updates are adopting more Webtop features, starting with the Motorola Photon Q, Droid Razr M/Droid Razr HD/Droid Razr Maxx HD, Motorola will no longer be loading Webtop in the future.
Conjecturatti have been posting reports that the next Nexus tablet or smartphone may come from Motorola, if Motorola is making the pure Google Nexus devices, they definitely won't have the Webtop apps..
Many readers wrote that they had "rooted" the non-updated models, however we have not been able to find a root that works with the expensive accessories.
In Amplified Analytics data Motorola did not fare well, customer satisfaction is very low, maybe it has to do with their flip-flopping on device upgrades and software?
Motorola doesn't care about its customers, they just want money. They also don't care about the environment by encouraging owner to buy a new phone rather than update a model that is less than year old.
We should have a choice to use the Webtop app if we want to.
Like I wrote before I will NEVER EVER buy another motoCRAP device ever again.
I have a phone less than a year old, bought the car mount and the HD dock.
Google + Moto = UR SCREWED.
Uninstall Google Search and Chrome and stop using Google alltogher.

The A-Hole at Motorola locked the bootloader on the Atrix, Fauxton & Electri-Foe, you can't get rid of the Webtop even if you try or cry.
I'm so sick of Motorolas dumb-a-tricks, I going to buy a cheaper easier Windows Phone.
