This year may go down in history as the first Black Friday where we see actually discounts on the iPad on Thanksgiving and after. Apple fans will have something to be thankful for. There are two ways to get $60 in savings on iPads.
Apple with its high price margins doesn't budge, but this year the tablet market has competition for the iPad mini as well as iPad 2 and the new 4th generation iPad with Retina display.
Today, Best Buy is cutting the price of iPad 2 and iPad with Retina by $60. As of this publication about half of the models of iPad with the $60 discount are sold out. Early birds who weren't could birds had the chance to get the deal without waiting in line at the stores.
Meanwhile if you can't nab the Best Buy deal, Target is offering when you buy an iPad Retina model a $60 Target Card - 11/22-11/24 only. The fine print states, "Receive a $60 gift card with purchase of select Apple iPad with retina display items. Offer excludes iPad mini items. Not valid on previous orders. On your order summary, the item subtotal will reflect the price of the qualifying item plus the amount of the free gift card, followed by a discount given for the amount of the free gift card."
That Target offer is also good through Saturday.
