Samsung is sharing its wealth and giving $3 million to help support those affected by the Hurricane Sandy. The company is offering support now and during the recovery period in the weeks and months to come.
Samsung pledged to give the Red Cross $3 million during ABC's "Day of Giving" by matching viewer donations up to three million dollars.
ABC's grand total of $16.8 million was raised on ABC and Disney’s “Day of Giving” for the American Red Cross to help those impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. $3 million of it was donated by Samsung.
Samsung Electronics North America is headquarters to Samsung since 1982.
Y.K. Kim, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, said,“Samsung’s first priority has been to ensure the safety and security of our U.S. employees and their families. Now it is important that we provide assistance to our neighbors.”
Samsung state that thes cash donations will provide immediate and direct assistance to those in greatest need.
Samsung recently became the top smartphone maker in the world with products such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S III.
