After five years of only knowing Verizon public relations reps over the phone it was a delight to meet Verizon spokespeople Albert Aydin and Brenda Raney. Aydin gave a tour of some of the latest devices. Here's his demo of the features and simplicity of the Samsung ATIV Odyssey.
In this video, I was looking more at Aydin than the ATIV, but it shows enough of the features to give you an idea of what the Samsung Odessy ATIV is like. Besides being very easy to use, especially for smartphone novices, the best feature is the dedicated camera key.
The dedicated camera button can take photos directly from the start screen without turning on the phone. The Odyssey ATIV for Verizon Wireless was announced just before CES.
The Samsung ATIV Odyssey features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8MP camera, 4"Super AMOLED touchscreen, Live Tiles, 5MP Camera, built-in photo editing app, mini diary, 8GB storage, microSD card slot, Windows files, and Windows SkyDrive . 2100mAh battery, global ready for traveling. You can view 1080P video.
No release date has been set yet. It is expected to be launched in "the coming weeks."
Windows Phones are growing in popularity. In fact, the Nokia Lumia 920 landed on many of the top best lists of 2012, has a great camera and works with gloves or power screw driver.
Following our demo is Ryan Bidan's demo and Verizon booth-guy Brian.
