Samsung ATIV Odyssey + HTC /Samsung Windows Phones 8

Samsung ATIV OdysseyThere were two major Windows Phone 8 announcements at CES, today. Verizon announced it will offer the Samsung ATIV Odyssey while Sprint confirmed that the company will offer two Windows Phone 8 smartphones one from HTC and one from HTC.

The Samsung ATIV Odyssey has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8MP camera, 4"Super AMOLED touchscreen, Live Tiles, 5MP Camera, built-in photo editing app, mini diary, 8GB storage, microSD card slot, Windows files,  and Windows SkyDrive .  Other features include 1GB of RAM, 2100mAh battery, global ready for traveling.  You can view 1080P video. The release date is expected in the coming weeks.

Both the Samsung and HTC  Windows 8 phones will offer Sprint 3G and 4G LTE, dual cameras enabling video chat, dual-core processors for enhanced internal speed between applications and support for expandable external memory. Additional device details, including pricing, will be shared closer to their availability dates.

We suspect the HTC Windows 8 Phone will be like the HTC 8X with a wide angle front camera, Beats Audio, 4.3" or bigger super LCD 2 720p Gorilla Glass 2 touchscreen, GPS, dual-core processor or better, 8MP processor, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

While we suspect the Samsung Windows Phone will be like the Samsung ATIV Odyssey.

Windows Phones are growing in popularity. In fact the Nokia Lumia 920 landed on  many of the top best lists of 2012, has a great camera and works with gloves or power screw driver.
