The conjecturatti have been waxing poetic about the press "save the date" invite from Verizon Wireless at CTIA on May 22.
Some contend that it will be a new device such as a new Nokia Lumia. Some think it will finally be the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 or maybe the Droid version of the HTC One.
Others contend it may be a change in smartphone plans or perhaps the first VoLTE Voice-over-LTE calling for its phones.
In the past, Verizon made product announcements at CTIA. The Droid Incredible 4G LTE won many awards at CTIA, last year. LTE was the big topic last year.
When and if Verizon changes the type plans it offers, the company usually changes the plans during June or July. Verizon Wireless launched its shared data plan on June 28, 2012. Verizon ended unlimited data plans to usage-based pricing on July 7, 2011.
There is a petition asking Verizon Wireless to end contracts all together. Let's see, we know for sure Verizon will definitely release the Samsung Galaxy S 4 at some point.
For the past two years, Verizon Wireless changed plan offerings in June and July. Since we'll be in Vegas, we're betting there will definitely be something new announced which could be a new plan option or not.

The Verizon network continues to grow while customers pay more. It announced today it had:
- 677,000 retail postpaid net additions, up 35 percent year over year.
- Retail postpaid ARPA (average revenue per account) increased 6.9 percent over first-quarter 2012, to $150.27 per month.
- Verizon Wireless had 34.9 million retail postpaid accounts at the end of the first quarter, a 1.1 percent increase over first-quarter 2012, and an average of 2.7 connections per account, up 5.1 percent year over year.
- At the end of the first quarter, smartphones accounted for more than 61 percent of the Verizon Wireless retail postpaid customer phone base, up from 58 percent at the end of fourth-quarter 2012.
