Sprint is joining the non-un-contract parade offering a new pay-as you go plan called, Sprint As You Go. This no contract program available now on Sprint.com and offers great deals with a $100 off discount for people who switch numbers.
The program starts at $50 a month ($70 for smartphones) with unlimited talk, text and data on Sprint, with no contract and no credit check. The monthly prices don't include taxes and fees. We've read the fine print and are not sure if web browsing of data is included, however, it may not include roaming and does not include mobile hotspot service.
We're going to have to get our spreadsheet and calculator to see how good the deal is. The device has to be a Sprint as You Go device. There is a limited selection right now.
The smartphones available have low subsidized prices. First you buy a phone like the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4 LTE ($149.99), iPhone 4 ($149.99) or Samsung Galaxy S II ($149.99), with the $100 off if you switch a number from another carrier. The LG Optimus Elite is $49.99.
Sprint As You Go Details
Offer ends 6/13/2013. Sprint As You Go plans do not require an annual contract. Certain phones require activation on a select plan. Plans are for domestic use only within the U.S. unless stated otherwise and include Caller ID, Voicemail, Call Waiting, Numeric Paging, Three-way Calling and Conditional Call Forwarding (*73, *74 and *28) while on the Nationwide Sprint Network. Push-to-talk is not included.
Depending on the service plan and Sprint As You Go device, data roaming may not be enabled and certain preinstalled applications may not be available or operational. Examples of these applications include, but are not limited to, Sprint TV, Sprint Music, TeleNav, GPS Navigator, and Mobile Hotspot applications.
In addition, Sprint As You Go devices may not be able to purchase other subscription-based third-party content from application stores or bill third-party purchases to a Sprint account.
Sprint may terminate service if off-network roaming usage in a month exceeds: (1) 400 min. or a majority of min.; or (2) 100 MB or a majority of KB. Prohibited network use rules apply.
That's a great deal I hope it includes web browsing and apps. The phones are great deals too.
I wish I could get that with a GS 4, now that's a deal.
It would be great if you could get an iPhone 5 too!
Sprint is not the cheapest but it has good coverage in big cities.
If you can LTE for it go for it. Now that's the first time I've seen really really good LTE prices.
We need to know about the unlimited data includes.
