Although the Sony Xperia Z has not reached the Unites States, yet there will be an even bigger Sony Xperia the Z Ultra that is waterproof and ultra-thin. Sony is calling the Xperia Z Ultra, the world's slimmest (6.5mm) and largest full HD smartphone display. It is also the only waterproof full HD smartphone. When compared to the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, it looks huge.
To prove its claims Sony hired Strategy Analytics and shows comparison charts. The the Full HD screen is larger than the Pantech Vega N6, Lenovo IdeadPad K900, LG Optimus G Pro and Samsung Galaxy S 4.
The Xperia Z Ultra is slimmer than the Huawei Ascend P1 S and many others.
Xperia Z Ultra has been built and tested to be compliant with IP55 and IP58. IPx8 and IPx5 provide the highest levels of water resistance according to the IP certification. All ports must be fully closed to keep it water tight.
Xperia Z Ultra features include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2.2 GHz quad-core CPUs, 4GLTE, HD voice, 6.4" HD Triluminos screen and 8MP camera.The Xperia Z Ultra offers handwriting recognition, that works with a pencil and selected stylus or pen. It also has NFC sharing of media and files to Sony speakers, SmartWatch, headsets and TVs.
Software Features of the Xperia Z Ultra:

The Xperia Z Ultra will launch globally from Q3 2013.
