The HTC 8XT will be coming from Sprint for $99.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade, two-year service agreement and $50 mail-in rebate via reward card. It has sound enhancements, a dedicated camera button and is the first Windows Phone with BoomSound. It was announced along with the Samsung ATIV S Neo with Galaxy S-like functionality.
The HTC 8XT features a 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 4G LTE support, 1080p video capture, 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM memory, microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB memory cards, a crisp 4.3-inch display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS support and 1,800mAh lithium-ion battery.
Sound Enhancements Sound Booms and Beats
HTC 8XT offers HTC BoomSound with dual front-facing stereo speakers with a dedicated amplifier deliver bigger sound with less distortion and more detail. Beats Audio enables studio-quality sound with strong bass, soaring midrange and crisp highs. HDR recording uses advanced dual microphones and audio processing to capture clean, rich sound that is worthy of high-definition video.
Camera Features
The 8MP main camera has autofocus and LED flash, for photos in bright-light and low-light situations. You can shoot video and take still pictures simultaneously. Multishot burst mode helps capture the best picture of a moving photo subject, and a dedicated Windows Phone camera button that works even when the phone is locked. HTC claims "Take great pictures day or night with a low light camera featuring back-side illumination and f2.0 lens."
Sprint and Microsoft made sure to remind buyers that Windows Phone 8 won the PC Magazine Readers’ Choice Award for best mobile operating system in March 2013.
