There were many hoping that the next Nexus smartphone and tablets would be launched by now. All we've seen are Google Editions of the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4. There have been rumors reported recently of what Google may be up to in the smartphone, tablet and other realms of Nexus.
Nexus 7 Tablet Specs Speculated?
When an Asus customer was chatting online with a Asus rep wrote "There has not been confirmed specifications as yet, but here are some basics specifications." The specs mentioned, included a 7" LED 1980x1200 resolution screen, quad-core 600 Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 5MP camera, front camera, Android 4.3, 4000mAh battery, NFC and LTE/WCDMA/GSM supprt.
The Asus K009 aka the next Nexus 7 should be expected "before the end of July."
High Five for Nexus 5 in November?
Meanwhile LG recanted a statement that Won Kim said"The Nexus 4 was a great success despite the production problems for us and Google. However we do not need such a marketing success again."
What Mr. Won Kim said is that we are not currently working on a Nexus 5, which is true. But that doesn't mean we would turn down the opportunity," an anonymous LG representative told TheNextWeb.
Meanwhile, a commenter on idigitaltimes noted that just as the Nexus 4 was based on the LG Optimus, the Nexus 5 will beased on the LG Optimus G2. The poster claims that LG learned from the Nexus 4 launch not to try to launch both the Optimus G and Nexus 4 at the same time. This time around, the LG Optimus G2 will be launched in Q3 and the Nexus 5 in the fourth quarter.
Suspected Specs of the LG Optimus G2 include edge-to-edge screen, volume buttons on the back, quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor and a screen as large as 5" or more. The camera may be 13MP or better with or without an LED Flash. There is no word yet on whether it will have a microSD slot.
The first Nexus, the Nexus One was made by HTC, then Samsung made the Nexus S and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. LG made the Nexus 4.
Nexus 11 to Rival iPad?
Previously it was reported that Samsung would make the Nexus 11 as it did with the Nexus 10. Reported features include a Super PLS TFT touchscreen, 8MP camera, front camera, microSD and powered by a Samsung octa-core processor. Since it may not be due out until the fall it may be launched with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
Android Game Console
The Wall Street Journal reported that Google is working on many devices including:
- Nexus smartwatch- will connect to smartphones via Bluetooth and most likely run Android.
- Nexus Q - an updated version of the failed Nexus Q media streaming device.
- Nexus game console - will run Android and have game controller buttons.
- Low-Cost Smartphones for developing nations - cheaper Android smartphone for markets where cost is a major factor.
- Home appliances - Android operated in the future.
