Nokia's Lumia smartphone sales have been gaining, as we reported with the latest Amplified Analytics report. Nokia has been promoting its smartphones for great cameras that work in low light conditions.
The numbers show that sales reached 7.2 million, which is slightly more than BlackBerry sales. BlackBerry sales for Q2 totaled 6.8 million units. Analysts contend that the increase in sales was helped by the Nokia Lumia 520. These numbers clearly put Windows Phone in third place after iPhone and Android.
The latest Nokia Lumia is the the Nokia Lumia 1020 with a 41MP PureView camera . It will go on sale from AT&T beginning July 26, for $299.99 with a contract. It is currently available for preorder from AT&T.
T-Mobile just started selling the Nokia Lumia 925. Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 buyers are shown to be extremely satisfied with their phones to the point that they are engaging in social media with high scores from Amplified Analytics.
The Nokia Lumia 521 has many of the features of the iPhone 5 and can cost over fourteen hundred dollars less over a two-year period. ( see chart)
Because the Lumia 920/928 can take photos in low light, Nokia is offering a low-light photo contest. Submit the best possible urban city/street style photograph captured in low light conditions, on any camera device, and submit them here by the 24th July.
