Freedom Pop, Free Data Pops to LTE with Sprint

FreedompopFreedomPop has started offering access to Sprint LTE with 500MB of free data per month using the FreedomSpot 5580 LTE with speeds as fast as 25 Mbps. .

Buyers should be ware that Sprint LTE is not fully deployed in Los Angeles or other areas.To sweeten the deal they are offering one month free on the data plans.

FreedomPop claims to be taking  the free Internet model to the next level, giving customers unprecedented access to the best mobile network performance available.

The FreedomSpot 5580 LTE mobile hotspot becomes the company's first device to run on Sprint's expanded nationwide LTE network, providing average speeds of 6 to 8 mbps down and peaks speeds as fast as 25 Mbps. 2GB costs $17.99 a month and one cent per MB over. The Premier plan includes 4G for $28.99 with one cent per MB overages. Free 500MB plan overage cost 2 cents per MB.

The portable hotspot fits in the palm of your hand, weighs only 3.5 ounces, and allows connectivity of up to 10 wireless devices. The FreedomSpot has a 1.54-inch OLED display, 10 hours of battery life on a single charge, GPS over Wi-Fi, and advanced security.

As with previous FreedomPop plans, users will automatically receive 500 MB of free data each month, while having the ability to  leverage their networks to share and request extra bandwidth from friends, and earn additional data by participating in partner promotions.

The company is also planning to introduce several other devices on Sprint's LTE network later this year, including smartphones through its new Freedom Phone plans. The FreedomSpot sells for $149.99 with Nationwide 3G fallback coverage (with upgraded plan).
