The Korea Times has confirmed that Samsung will reveal the Galaxy Gear and Samsung Galaxy Note III at IF on September 4. Another Korea media outlet reported that Note III will have a very high resolution HD camera.
Samsung's Lee Young-hee Executive Vice President of Samsung Mobile reported that the Samsung smart watch will premier on September 4 at the Unpacked event as well as the Samsung Galaxy Note III.
“We will be introducing a new wearable concept device called Galaxy Gear at our own event in Berlin on Sept. 4,” Lee said. Samsung has been preparing the smartwatch product for a long time.
The smartwatch know as the Galaxy Gear will not have a flexible screen but be a test market device for the genre. The Gear will be geared towards young hip trendsetters.
She implied that Samsung is prepping more advanced smart devices.
“We have intellectual properties for patents related to the next wearable devices. Those are concepts for future products.”
Ms. Lee confirmed that the Galaxy Note III will be revealed but did not reveal details except that it will have enhanced key features.
Lee said that Samsung has no interest in buying BlackBerry.
Areas where Samsung will grow are tablets and mobile security. Recently, the U.S. Defense Department decided to use Samsung Electronics’ Android-based Knox solution.
Meanwhile, the Korea Economic daily reported that the Galaxy Note 3 may feature 4K Ultra HD video recording, used in high-end digital televisions and digital cinematography. The standard has 4,000 horizontal pixels. The Note 3 could have 16MP camera with optical image stabilization.
