LG is expected to announce its new super phablet the G2, tomorrow, August 7. It already announced that it will be called the G2 but there are still rumors about some possible surprises.
MK News in Korea reported that LG will release the G2 in South Korea, right after the media event in New York. However due to international time zones, the G2 won't technically be released in Korea until August 8.
The LG G2 is next incarnation of the LG Optimus G Pro with many Galaxy Note-like features. There were leaks of the LG G2 display, cases and manual.
From the manual:
- The LG G2 will have a window case where you can see part of the screen.
- The LG G2 will have a nano-SIM cards slot like the iPhone 5 and Moto X.
- It will have a microSD card slot.
- It will have a removable 2610mAh battery.
ETradeSuppuly showed some of the parts of the LG G2 that show a 5.2" 1020p touchscreen.
Other suspected specs include a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait 400 processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera with image stabilization and LED flash.
As usual evleaks leaked a photo slightly before the official launch.
Other rumors suggest release dates in the United States for AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint, as early as September.
The G2 will be entering a crowded smartphone market along with the Droid Ultra/MAXX, Moto X and new iPhone 5S.
