It's not good policy to promote a smartphone for the anniversary of the attack on the U.S on 9/11/01.
Someone from the AT&T posted a photo of the BlackBerry Z10 in someone's hand taking a photo of the Tribute in Light memorial lights in New York.
The Twitterverse hated it and showed outrage, mainly due to the fact that it had a product in it which in turn, turned it into an ad.
Many contend that if it were just a photo of the lights, it would have been acceptable but the fact that the photo contained a product made it deplorable.
AT&T said "We apologize to anyone who felt our post was in poor taste. The image was solely meant to pay respect to those affected by the 9/11 tragedy."
With its present market share BlackBerry does not this kind of publicity.
The BlackBerry Z10 offers some compelling security reasons to buy it and received good reviews. However, currently there are other secure options for BYOD.
The best-liked features of the BlackBerry Z10 are solid professional body, call quality, multiple network bands, aimed at productivity and multitaskers, more pixels per inch than iPhone 5, professional/consumer features, excellent multimedia features and good camera.
Apart from putting it in the hands of a fireman, how could this image have been any more respectful, to the many lives of the workers and emergency service personnel who lost their lives, and the one communication device that kept working when all the other networks crumbled?
