Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids with kids apps and parental controls. The 7" Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids comes kid-styled educational, games, entertainment and ebook apps.
The first company to understand that kids are frequent tablet users was Amazon with its Kindle Fire kid features. This table however has gone a step further making the color scheme more like like busy box than an iPad.
Samsung claims its designed to make learning fun. The parents however can:
- Select the apps they want their kids to have access to using the Application Manager.
- Set the time management feature for specific time periods for use. When the alotted time is used up, a password protected lock screen appears, requiring a parent or adult to enter the password to unlock the device.
The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids has 1.2GHz dual processor, 1GB RAM, 3MP front-facing camera and 1.3 megapixel rear-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microSD card slot and comes in bright yellow.
A Kids Case featuring a child-friendly grip and multiple stand options will also be available for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids. The case also comes equipped with an easy-to-grip C Pen, providing fun drawing capabilities without the possibility of leaving marks on other objects
The availability of applications through Kids Samsung Apps will vary by market. The Tab 3 Kids will be released in Korea in September and the rest of the world thereafter.
