We're getting closer to next unveiling of the iPad 5 and next version of Mac notebooks. Apple sent out an invitation to the media for an event on October 22 at 10:00am PT.
The invite states "We still have a lot to cover." There is a white Apple with colorful leaves behind it which suggests there may be more color options for devices announced.
French Blog MacG reported Apple’s new full-size iPad and Retina iPad mini will launch either Wednesday, October 30th or Thursday, October 31st.
The 5th generation iPad is expected to be thinner, lighter, faster and possibly have a fingerprint scanner. The iPad mini 2 is expected to have a Retina display, 8MP camera and faster A7 processor. New colors may be space gray or gold.
Many customers are trading in and selling their model 1-3 iPads to get the highest price they can according to Gazelle and NextWorth.
Gazelle, meanwhile, reported a 312 percent increase in iPad trade-ins since Oct. 3
iPad 3 32GB models are getting around $210-220 while original iPad minis can get the seller $220-240.
Apple's Reuse and Recycle website is buying the iPad 3 32GB for $216 and giving $231 for the iPad mini. If the device is engraved the price is reduced $30.
If you have an iPad 2 or 3, Microsoft will give you minimum of $200 for them that you can use toward buying a new Surface tablet.
Previous reports suggested that Apple was having a supply problem for screen for the iPad mini 2.
Pricing for the new iPads is expected to be similar to current iPad pricing starting at $499 for the iPad 5 16GB with $100 increases per doubling of storage. LTE models should add about $30 on to each price.
Mac Pro laptops may also be announced.
