LG Throws Samsung a Curve Ball
It appears along with Samsung, LG is working on a curved screen phablet called the LG Flex, kind of like the curved Maxi pad approach. The screen and handset are curved to fit around your face like the old-fashioned telephone handsets. Only the screen will be flexible and it will be super resilient, preventing breakage.
Court Rules ITC Erred in Moto's Way
In the patent war between Motorola and Microsoft, even though they share four letters, Moto is infringing upon a graphical users interface patent. The U.S. Court of Appeals has asked the International trade Commission to reconsider a previous decision to the contrary.
iOS 7 Update on School iPads Opens Up Filters
When school issued iPads received the update to iOS 7, it disabled the filters the schools had in place. Apple is working on a fix. Meanwhile in Los Angeles, the iPad situation has reached chaos to the tune $1-billion. Policies were not clear, some students by-passed the filters, some were asked to return them and teachers reported that they couldn't connect the iPads in the classrooms. Some students are allowed to take them home and some are not. Students in Los Angeles by-passed the filters, last week. It is also not clear if parents are responsible for their kid's lost or stolen iPads which cost $650, each.
Siri to Get Cue-ter?
Apple has acquired Cue, a personal assistant app that has predictive psychic Google Now style features. Cue cost $40 million dollars, therefore it was not behind the cue ball.
Nexus 10 from Asus?
The next Nexus 10" tablet may come from Nexus 7-make Asus according to EVLeaks on Twitter.
Samsung MediaTeks?
According to Digitimes, Taiwanese chip maker MediaTek will be making chips for Samsung with quad-core and octa-core processors. The chips are designed for low battery consumption and will probably be used in mid to low-end models of smartphones.
Nexus 5 Arrives in Time for Halloween
TechRadar reported that the Nexus 5 will announced and shipped in the last week of October at about half the price of the iPhone 5S but with similar performance.
