Put your Google Glasses on and be on the lookout for the Google watch which could be out as soon as the end of this month.
The Google watch some say is codenamed Gem will be powered with lots of Google Now features.
What is inside the Nexus Google watch is sketchy, but it could have the following:
- Android 4.4 KitKat.
- Calendar.
- Reminders,
- Voice directions.
- Walking directions.
- Voice commands.
- SMS /email notifications.
- Alarms.
- Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
- Health monitor such as odometer, heart rate sensor.
- Matching glasses....
9t05 Google's source reportedly said that the Google watch should be out sooner than later with an announcement as early as October 30.
This all fits in with the KitKat tie-in for Halloween. Yesterday, we saw ads for the Nexus 5, suggesting that there will be plenty of Android shaped KitKat bars in time for Halloween.
The iWatch on the other hand (pun intended or shall we say on the other wrist?) is not expected until, next year at least.
Reportedly over 100 designers are working on the watch-like iOS device that will have some of the functions of an iPhone/iPod/iPad.
When Apple enters into the watch market the iWatch could have many more bells an whistles such as:
- Biometric sensors for sleep analysis.
- Fingerprint scanner for payments.
- iTunes music playing.
- Speaker phone, Dick Tracy style.
- GPS for Star Trek beaming/location.
- Thermometer for weather and body temperature.
- Home automation - turn on lights, ac/heater, audio, Jacuzzi and security systems.
- Open garage doors.
- TV remote functionality.
- Open and lock car doors.
- Comes in the same colors as either the iPhone 5S or 5c.
Jony Ive is leading the iWatch project.
What we find very interesting about all the iWatch and Nexus Watch, is that leaks never mention the main function of the analog watch. It will tell time!
TV advertising analytics firm Ace Metrix reported that Samsung's latest commercial for the Galaxy Gear scored 682 which is better than Apple's iPhone 5c add which scored 522.
