What a great time to be shopping for a cheaper plan, T-Mobile is paying for ETF fees and for the first time Boost Mobile has reduced its monthly fee for 4G LTE down to $35 and a $30 account credit(online for certain models only) making the first month only $5.00.
It sounds great, but before you buy you have read the fine print. Boost Mobile payments are $35 for the first six months. The savings equal to $120 off the usual rate. You have to buy a 4G LTE enabled smartphone such as:
Models with $30 Account Credit:
- Phone 5c ($449.99)- the color iPhone in your choice colors.
- Apple iPhone 5s ($549.99)- the latest iPhone with finger print scanner and other enhancements (read review).
- LG Optimus F7 ($249.99)- 7"touchscreen, dual cameras, a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and Android.
- Boost MAX (ZTE) - Boost Max features a 5.7 " 720p screen, dual-core Snapdragon CPU with 1 GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear camera, and a 3200 mAh battery running Android 4.1.
- Boost Warp 4G, ($50 off $149.99) -Andoroid smarpthone with 4.5" screen, stereo Bluetooth, 8MP camera and Android 4.1.
Models without a $30 Account Credit:
- HTC One SV $249. is the smaller sibling to the HTC One with Beats Audio and 4.3-inch screen, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Wi-Fi, GPS and 5MP camera.
- LG Mach ($179.99)- this 4" screened Android smartphone has a slide out landscape QWERTY keyboard, 5MP camer, Quick Memo and 1.2 GHZ dual-core processor.
- HTC One SV Certified Pre-owned $(159.99)- a savings of close to $100 over a new phone.
To get the Boost Mobile $35 a month deal, you must sign up for the $35.00 account by March 31 and be a new customer. The plan includes 2.5GB/month of high-speed data. Video is limited to 3G speeds. Once the $35 rate ends, payments will start at $50, and for every six on-time payments, it is reduced for $5 off. Eventually, you can pay as little as $40 a month.
To get the $30 account credit for new customers only, you must buy and apply buy March 25.
If you have good Sprint coverage in your area and a Boost mobile phone it may wind up costing less than T-Mobile plans. T-Mobile is the only carrier to pay for ETF right now.
