New Deal AT&T Cheaper Value Share Plans $100 Credit: Best Deal Yet?

mobielvalueshareplanAT&T has reduced the base price of the  Mobile Share Value plans for what it calls its "best-ever pricing."

Many contend that the price cut was prompted by the exodus of AT&T customers to T-Mobile after it unleashed its uncarrier plans, last year. New T-Mobile customers, however, will benefit from increased data for capped data plans but will have to pay $10 more for unlimited data plans.

Someone who doesn't need data can get a smartphone with unlimited voice and text with 300MB of data for $20 a month plus  a smartphone is an additional $25 month totaling $45 a month without a  contract with the new AT&T Value Share Plans. The price of the 2GB Mobile Value Share plan is reduced $15. The former rate was $55 for for 2GB of data. Starting, today Sunday, the price dropped to $40 a month plus the fee for a smartphone which is $25 if you only have one smartphone or as low as $15 a smartphone with multiple smartphones.

On contract customers pay $40 per line along with $40 for 2GB for a total of $80 a month.

With the new plan you can have up to ten devices on the plans and buy as much data as you want.

The fine print states For plans 10GB or higher, AT&T customers with smartphones on 2-year agreements as of 2/1/14 are eligible for the $15/mo. rate. For plans 2GB to 6GB, AT&T customers with smartphones on 2-yearr agreements as of 3/8/14 are eligible for the $25/mo. rate. If upgrading, you must comply with then-current requirements to keep discounted smartphone rate.

There is a caveat if you are currently on a contract and upgrade to a new phone later, you can only keep the discounted by is buy switching to the Next Plans or to pay full price for  a new phone.

AT&T is also currently offering these ways to get $100 credit with two-year agreement:

Verizon Wireless added extra data to its plans but has not reduced fees much, yet.
