Santa is getting his technology ready for December 25.  He's got some apps to track him as wells as claims of his favorite smartphone and chances to win one.

Santa has gone Droid and if you are lucky girl or boy you can win the well-reviewed Droid RAZR MAXX HD and a chance to hangout with him during a Google + Hangout.

Motorola claims that the Droid RAZR MAXX HD is Santa's smartphone of choice. Last year, Santa asked Siri for directions using an iPhone 4S.  He's either fickle or gets well paid for his endorsements.

Parents give Kris Kringle a jingle by submitting children's holiday wish lists via text or voice mail.  Text or phone 1-925-25-SANTA (72682).

Messages left for Santa  through December 6 are also sweepstakes entries for a chance to talk to Kris Kringle live during a video chat hosted at YouTube.com/Motorola using Google+ Hangout on Air.

Red Cross AppAll the major carriers are ready for Hurricane Sandy (read disaster tips). The Red Cross has apps to help find shelters and you can donate to aid those who are affected by the hurricane.

The FCC encourages people to limit non-emergency voice calls and to keep calls brief to avoid network congestion.

To find a shelter, people can download the Red Cross Hurricane app, visit the Red Cross web site, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or check local media outlets. They should also register on the Red Cross Safe and Well website, that helps families connect during emergencies.
