BlackBerry and RIM are trying to get back into the smartphone game.  What better way to garner attention than to buy an ad during the Super Bowl?

RIM will be paying millions of dollars for a spot during the game to promote BlackBerry 10 Most big device companies like Samsung usually stays quiet about how much they pay and when they will appear in a Super Bowl commercial.  Last year, the Samsung Galaxy Note kicked off its season and United States during the Super Bowl.

There is definitely going to be BlackBerry Z10 with an announcement on January 30. New leaked photos show a total touchscreen smartphone with a thin design.

There is also leaked screenshot showing the Z10 coming from Verizon Wireless.  Many believe it will be released at the end of February.

At 4.3" the BlackBerry Z 10 will fit in a pocket.New leaks suggest that the BlackBerry Z10 will be priced at $149.99 with a contract with no known price yet for the BlackBerry X10.

The most popular smartphone for businesses may make a comeback through competitive pricing and a new slick operating system. BlackBerry 10 is expected to be announced on January 30.  Here are some details that have appeared about BlackBerry 10, Z10 and X10 recently.

New leaks suggest that the BlackBerry Z10 will be priced at $149.99 with a contract with no known price yet for the BlackBerry X10.

Features of the BlackBerry  Z10 include a 4.3" touchscreen and NFC.   In a video comparison without the final software The Blackberry z10 is shown to have a 356ppi dense screen (more pixels than the iPhone,) removable 1800 mAh battery.

LG Optimus G Sales Go Pro

LG announced that their premier smartphone the LG Optimus G has sold over one million units over the world in four months.

LG offers the Optimus G in Canada, Japan, South Korea and the United States and plans to release  in China and in several European countries in the first quarter of this year. The well-reviewed LG Optimus G has some neat features (see videos) and was named one of the best smartphones of 2012.

AT&T was the first carrier to sell the iPhone and still offers subsidized smartphones to customers with grandfathered unlimited data accounts. This year's best smartphones after surveying the top best sources, prorated, offered some surprises and also insight into the wireless business as a whole.

BlackBerry is trying to make a comeback with BlackBerry 10, new videos show some new features. In fact, all is not lost for BlackBerry because Reuters reports a U.S. Federal Agency has agreed to test the RIM's BlackBerry 10 for use for Immigration and Customers Enforcement (ICE)

The new BlackBerry 10 keyboard on a touchscreen is shown in video. Many are hoping that BlackBerry can improve the touchscreen upon which typing can be difficult. Software Product Manager Vivek Bhardwaj shows that touchscreen BlackBerry keyboard:

LG and T-Mobile recently announced the LG Optimus L9 designed with metallic accents and thin shape priced at $89.99 after a $50 rebate with a contract. This is not to confused with the LG Optimus G (Sprint and AT&T)  which is a full-featured top-of-the-line super smartphone similar to the Nexus 4 ($ 99 unlocked) and a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S III ($279 list $179 @ Wirefly).

The LG Optimus L9 is being called a mid-range Android smartphone and ideal for those who need a speedy processor.

What's bigger than a Droid RAZR HD but smaller than the iPad? The LG Intuition.

The LG Intuition was released on Verizon Wireless in September and is considered a phablet while the Droid RAZR HD is more of large smartphone. Since we have not heard, yet if Verizon will offer the LG Optimus G, the LG Intuition may be the only LG phablet, unless of course Verizon released the Nexus 4.
