Cricket announced that it is selling the Wi-Fi Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in package with the mobile broadband hotspot Crosswave. You can buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 for $499.99 or with the Crosswave Wi-Fi hotspot for $594.99.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 features Android 3.1 Honeycomb, 16GB of internal storage, 10.1-inch enhanced display with a 1280x800 resolution HD screen, 1 GHz dual core application processor, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera.
Cricket announced that Muve Music service is now available on the Huawei Ascend II smartphone.
The Huawei Ascend II is the second Cricket smartphone from Huawei. Priced at $179.99, running Android 2.3.5, it comes with a 3.5” HVGA touchscreen, Wi-Fi capability, and 3G Real Web Browsing. The Ascend II features include a 5MP camera/camcorder, MP3 player/microSD slot, and more.
Cricket announced its Muve Music service on two Android smartphones that are now available on Amazon.com along with a feature phone line-up that will expand in the coming weeks.
Amazon.com customers now have the opportunity to order Muve Music on either the Samsung Vitality or the ZTE Score Android phones. The Huawei Pillar feature phone is also available now and will soon be joined by other Cricket feature phones including the ZTE Chorus, Kyocera Domino and the Samsung Chrono.
Prepaid carrier Cricket Communications introduced local global calling numbers for unlimited international calling and new international plans with minutes for local and mobile numbers.
The Global Local Number plan lets Cricket subscribers to set up a local number in over 4o different countries, when the friend in that country calls the local number it rings on the Cricket customer's cell phone. The service costs $5.o0 a month for Mexico and $10 a month for other countries.
Cricket also announced two new international rate plans, a Mexico rate plan and a global rate plan. Both plans include unlimited local talk and US long distance, domestic and global messaging and mobile web.
The Mexico rate plan, available for $55 per month, also includes a Mexico local number, 500 minutes of use per month for calls to a Mexican landline phone and 30 minutes of use per month for calls to a Mexico mobile phone.
Cricket Wireless is now selling the ZTE MEMO, a candy bar BlackBerry-looking messaging phone with a QWERTY keyboard.
The ZTE MEMO has 3G data access, full web browsing and many functions. Features include a 2MP camera, music player dedicated keys for messaging as well as a calendar. Cricket Navigator comes preloaded which suggest that the MEMO has GPS.
