We know our readers are anxiously trying to find the heavily discounted HP TouchPad tablets that were blown-out of stock over the weekend.

We tried calling several HP reps along with emailing them. It's not exactly what we wanted and but here is the official HP statement emailed from an HP spokeswoman:

  • "We are pleased by the response to webOS and look forward to customer feedback so we can further enhance the platform.
  • TouchPads are currently sold-out and customers can check with hp.com or retailers for more information.
We will not be selling the 4G AT&T TouchPad.
There will be no public launches for the Pre 3."

Therefore what we published yesterday, still holds true.

The best place to buy the HP Touchpad is through HP online store
to see if goes back in stock. The best time is usually in the wee hours
of the morning night. We are  hoping that you could use a coupon code
for even more off $15 off orders of $75 or greater at the HP Home & Home Office Store. Exclusions Apply. Use code: SAVE15HP!  But have not been able to verify that the coupon code works.

People who ordered HP Touchpads online over the weekend from Office
Depot and OnSale are receiving confirmations that their orders have
shipped.  According to an HP  Twitter feed, the best place to get an HP
TouchPad is through the HP online store
by signing up for a notification.

How to Get a Discounted HP TouchPad $99 or $149 or Forget the TouchYugo?

comingsoon.JPGAlthough most HP TouchPad tablets were sold out over the weekend, there is hope for buyers who want to get a good deal.

It was reported today that Best Buy is sending HP TouchPad tablets to stores where you may be able to find one.  It's worth asking at your local store, they will blow-out quickly.  There were lines reported at stores that had them in stock.

Update 8/25 11:24 AM:  People who ordered HP Touchpads online over the weekend from Office Depot and OnSale are receiving confirmations that their orders have shipped.  According to an HP  Twitter feed, the best place to get an HP TouchPad is through the HP online store by signing up for a notification.  We have called and emailed the HP PR rep to find out what will be happening with the AT&T 4G HP TouchPad and Pre 3.  We received an official statement.

Update 8/24 2:47 PM:  Some online retailers who took orders over the weekend are unable to fill orders and are cancelling the sales.

HP earlier this week created a notification sing-up page and HP.com is showing "coming soon."

The HP TouchPad has many features that work, you can browse the web, get email, view documents, view video and read books via
Wi-Fi in full color.  You can even print to an HP printer.  For $99 you could use the TouchPad, for note pad, doodle pad, colorful desk pad/coaster, bathroom reader (not in the tub) digital photo frame and even as a kid's Etch-A-Sketch.

The HP TouchPad was second to iPad in a recent survey.

It's worth checking the HP online store to see if goes back in stock. The best time is usually in the wee hours of the morning night. We also noticed that HP announced an AT&T 4G version of the HP TouchPad those also may go on sale at discount.  We definitely don't those tablets made with rare and toxic metals to wind-up in landfill.

We also think that in a month or so, HP TouchPads will will show up on eBay from owners who realize that they can't use the tablets as expected.
