For a limited time the Kindle Fire HD 16GB from Amazon price has been reduced to $159. This is probably a signal that Amazon is working on a newer model for a release date later this fall.

The Kindle Fire HD was released in the fall of 2012. The hardware is top notch, but not top of the line. The software is geared towards the Amazon family with first rate parental controls and ease of use. It was rated 4 stars out of 5 by our Review of Reviews.

Kindle Fire Phone to beat Nexus 4 @ Fire Sale Price?

The Kindle Fire may not be fastest tablet but it offers enough power and services for the whole family to love. Amazon reportedly has some great deals in the works including entering in the unsubsidized smartphone market at a rock bottom cheap price to compete with the Nexus 4 maybe sometime in the summer.

Since the T-Mobile announcement that T-Mobile will not longer subsidized smartphones, it leaves a market to filled by other subsidies such as being cash register for Amazon sales of books, digital media and other products.

Digitmes reported that the new Kindle Fire phone with have a 4.7" touchscreen to meet the demand for big screens to beat out the iPhone.

Nexus 7AT&T is offering a free Wi-Fi goodies such as Xbox 360, SONOS PLAY:3, Kindle Fire or a Nexus 7 Tablet with certain U-Verse service packages.

The devices worth up to $350 are available with a U-Verse Internet and TV or Voice service known as triple and quad-play bundles. It also includes access to AT&T's network of Wi-Fi hotspots in Starbucks and other venues.
