iPhone Bests Samsung Galaxy by $2B

iPhones and the Samsung Galaxy are the most profitable in the Galaxy reported Strategy Analytics.

Apple's iPhone was the most profitable at $7.1 billion or 57% of total profit shares of smartphones.

Samsung has the main share of profits ts $5.1 billion in operating profits which is 95% of all profits made on Android. Global Android profits were $5.3 billion. Android accounted for 43% of smartphone profits.

Verizon Wireless Ups Data with Prepaid Deals

After T-Mobile's reduced plans, AT&T's Aio and more prepaid smartphones than ever before Verizon Wireless has increased the amount of data in its prepaid plans.

Verizon's current prepaid customers who pay $60 a month now will get 2GB of data, an increase from 500MB a month.

$70 a month prepaid plans will have unlimited voice, text and 4GB of data an increase from 2GB.

Nexus-Brained Nexus One & S Used 4 Global Earth Shots

While consumers may have abandoned their  Nexus One or Nexus S smartphones there were three Nexus that took a trip into space and sent back earth images.

Photos were combined in NASA's PhoneSat, from small boxed shaped satellites that were put into orbit on April 21. The devices used Nexus smartphones for brains.  Meanwhile earthlings have heard nothing about the new cousins of the Nexus One and S , the Nexus 4 LTE or Nexus 5.

GS 4 Biggest Next Big Thing Best Smartphone vs iPhone Sales

The Samsung Galaxy S 4 (GS 4) is showing signs of Apple iPhone-like success.

An unamed Samsung executive told Chosunlibo that Samsung has shipped 4 million GS 4between its launch and the end of the April. I

Then Samsung shipped another 2 million, making for a total of 6 million shipped by May 10.  Samsung believes that they will sell 10 Samsung Galaxy S 4 smartphones by the end of May.

In the past, it took Samsung two months to sell 10 million Samsung Galaxy S III in 2012 and 150 days to sell the same amount of Samsung Galaxy S II models.

Today's Google I/O announcement quashed Nexus 4 LTE/5  and Motorola X rumors for now, so let's see what else the conjecturatti have dug up for May 22 when Verizon Wireless will make an announcement. HTC has received a new Wi-Fi certification that some believe is the Verizon version of the HTC One. The Droid DNA has been discounted to free with a special promo code.

Model number PN073XX features LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi. HTC One on AT&T is model number PN07120.

Nexus GS 4 without the Samsung Galaxy & Nexus 4 $ Pricing

While Nexus 4 fans are waiting for the next Nexus or even signs of a Motorola X, Google announced a pure Android version of the Samsung Galaxy S 4.  It is called a "Nexus" user experience but does not have the rock bottom pricing of the Nexus 4.

This GS 4 is unlocked(bootloader) to work with either LTE for T-Mobile or AT&T and will sell for $649 when released on Google Play on June 26. The GS 4 will have "prompt system updates" from Google.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 (GS 4) Release date May 23

Verizon Wireless has moved up the release date of the  Samsung Galaxy S 4  to be available in stores on May 23.  Verizon is currently taking preorders for the Samsung Galaxy S 4 which sells for $199 with a contract after a $50 rebate.

This is the first time, we've seen a release date changed to be earlier, than announced which is good sign. In the past with devices such as the HTC Thunderbolt, release dates were pushed later and later.

We're getting closer to see what Google and Motorola will be producing in the coming months.  There have been new Nexus 4/5 LTE and Motorola X (XFON) reports as we approach Google I/O.

LG Megalodon Nexus 4 LTE or Nexus 5?

LG is reportedly working on the next Nexus 4/5.  Some retailers in the U.K.  have taken Nexus 4 off the shelves and are not stocking them. Google's retail locator for the Nexus 4 shows limited retail availability.
