Alicia Keys is showing her support for women and BlackBerry, by offering secret session concerts, ways to participate in her concerts and headlining a new technology scholarship program from BlackBerry.

BlackBerry Global Creative Director, Alicia Keys, launched the new BlackBerry Scholars Program, designed to inspire more women to be educated fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), providing full scholarship for women in these fields.

T-Mobile is updating its Samsung Galaxy S III to Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

The update is available OTA (Over-the-Air) or via the Kies app. The OTA T999UVDMD5 update will be pushed out over time to use and will continue until June 16.

New Features of from Samsung are Multi-Window, Auto-pairing via NFC, enhanced Camera options, Sound Balance, Paper Artist, Samsung Gallery, Blocking Mode and Easy Mode. DO NOT STOP the process during the update, like we did with out AT&T model (see video).

Verizon Wireless has moved up the release date of the  Samsung Galaxy S 4  to be available in stores on May 23.  Verizon is currently taking preorders for the Samsung Galaxy S 4 which sells for $199 with a contract after a $50 rebate.

This is the first time, we've seen a release date changed to be earlier, than announced which is good sign. In the past with devices such as the HTC Thunderbolt, release dates were pushed later and later.

The iPhone 5 on  T-Mobile when all costs are figured was the best deal around for an iPhone and still is after a $50 down payment price hike that started today. The $50 discount can be achieved by transfering a  phone number from another carrier or trading in a valuable used smartphone. (see chart)

The $99.99 down deal is now over the total payments for the iPhone 5 has been increased from $579.99 to $629.  The initial fee to buy an iPhone 5 is now $150.

If you want a super-sized phablet-phone, the LG Optimus G Pro goes on sale from AT&T today for $199.99 with a contract. The LTE speeds on the LG Optimus G Pro were blazing fast in Los Angeles.

The LG Optimus Pro G has a huge screen and the same processor as the HTC One, however when we tested LTE for both at the same time the LG Optimus G Pro had higher upload and download speeds.  The highest upload speeds for the HTC One was 26Mbps down and 15Mpbs up.  While the highest LTE speeds for the LG Optimus G Pro were 32.9 Mbps down and 16.9Mbps up.
