T-Mobile is updating its Samsung Galaxy S III to Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

The update is available OTA (Over-the-Air) or via the Kies app. The OTA T999UVDMD5 update will be pushed out over time to use and will continue until June 16.

New Features of from Samsung are Multi-Window, Auto-pairing via NFC, enhanced Camera options, Sound Balance, Paper Artist, Samsung Gallery, Blocking Mode and Easy Mode. DO NOT STOP the process during the update, like we did with out AT&T model (see video).

If were wondering how the larger screen smartphones from Samsung such as the Samsung Galaxy S III/4 Note 1-2,  have been doing, all you have to do is look to Samsung's latest phablet-sized profits.  In the first quarter Samsung had a 42% increase in profits.

In Samsung's latest earning report, it had a whopping $40 in cash and equivalents. Its huge profit comes largely from smartphones, which generate cash because they don't require much capital investment.

Samsung beat out other top Android smartphone with over two-thirds of all Android impressions in Velti's State of Mobile Advertising. This could be the de ja vu of things to come for the Samsung Galaxy S 4.

Velti looked at what smartphones were the receiving the most advertising impressions from Mobiclix Exchange.

The T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S II is being updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The optional update Software T989UVMC6 is available via Samsung Kies software only (instructions follow).  This update changes the OS to Jelly Bean and adds Samsung features.

Sprint is updating the Samsung Galaxy S II  Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This is good sign to Samsung Galaxy S II owners on other carriers, that usually follow with updates soon after.

The update must be completed using either the Kies app or Samsung's Simple upgrade tools. You will not be able to make emergency calls during the update processes. Don't stop the update once it starts. Don't forget it is always a good idea to backup your data before and update as well as have your phone fully or at least 50% charged during the update.

U.S. Cellular is joining the Samsung Galaxy S 4 fold with presales starting on April 16, but no release date has been set yet.

The U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy S 4 will go on presale the same day as AT&T while T-Mobile stated that the SG S4 will go on sale on May 1.  The presale will be web only, no price has been posted yet.  However unlimited LTE service is $40 a month.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 is priced at a premium of $249.99 with a contract.

We finally have a confirmation and release date from a major carrier in the United States, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 will be available on May 1.  We looked at current prices to try to figure the best deals from T-Mobile to its top current rated models vs buying an unlocked phone directly. At the T-Mobile Un-Carrier event, today, CEO revealed new T-Mobile plans without smartphone subsidies and that they will start selling the Samsung Galaxy S 4 on May 1.  T-Mobile will also be launching LTE data service.

On March 6 were able to expose a security flaw found on the Samsung Galaxy S III using the emergency call (ICE)feature. This problem also has been reported to occur in the Samsung Galaxy Note II.  Samsung is working on a solution to the problem.

"We are aware of this issue and will release a fix at the earliest possibility,” a Samsung representative told Ina Fried, “Samsung considers user privacy and the security of user data its top priority.”
