AT&T recently launched the Sony Xperia TL. This superphone hold the honor of being in the latest James Bond movie Skyfall and costs only $99.99 with a two-year contract.

Sony Xperia S, P & U in USA Unlocked NXT-Updated Soon

Sony is going solo with unlocked phones sans carrier for the United States.  It currently offers the Xperia S, P and sola handsets in the United States. The company today also confirmed the availability of the Xperia U in the US Sony Store for $299.99. The handset is available in black/pink, black/white and white/yellow colors.

Currently, the Sony Xperia Ion is being sold by AT&T, it ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which even with its super camera and excellent connections to Sony HD TVs can be percieved as a problem.

There has been a huge shake-up in the entire wireless industry, today, April 1.

The public is finally getting what it has asked for -  free unlimited data, no early termination fees,  six-month upgrade cycle and more by Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

An unreliable source told Wimonews, "The carriers felt guilty making so much money and decided to pay back their customers."

"I'm thrilled with the unlimited data," said April Foolishini, "But what is was even more exciting is that I had my choice of a free Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Galaxy S III , Droid RAZR MAXX, Droid Fighter, HTC One X or iPhone."

"I'm impressed.  Because I am an enterprise corporate buyer, they gave me three thousand free BlackBerry Storm units and one BlackBerry Bold, " said Andy Droid.

An Arieso study compared the data used by the latest smartphones against the iPhone 3G.  On top of that 1% of subscribers generate 50% of mobile data.

While the courts are trying to silence Siri's marketing claims, she does use a ton of uplink data for the iPhone, however the top smartphone data user is s the Pure Google Nexus One owner. Other top data hogs are the Sony Xperia x10i, HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S.

It looks like Sony is keeping its promise to upgrade its popular 2011 Xperia model smartphones to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).  The official Sony blog announced that there is beta version of Android 4.0 ready for downloading but the update process is more twisted than a pretzel.

If you install this beta Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update,  you will lose Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Google Apps as well as the ability to upgrade to the official update later.

Sony Xperia Ion @ AT&T Priced, Après Release Date

The Sony Xperia Ion with 4G LTE is expected to launched on AT&T in the first quarter of this year.  However, while AT&T and Sony haven't announced a price or release date, Negri Electronics quoted a price of $569.50 for the Sony Xperia Ion without a contract.

Those who like to speculate, an unlocked version may mean that other carriers such as Verizon Wireless will launch its own version.  The Sony Xperia Ion is the first smartphone that will not have the "Ericsson" name its brand name.
