Nextel iDen Done with Push-to-Talk - June 30, 2013

Sprint will shut down the iDEN Nextel National Network June 30 with the lat day of service on June 29.  On June 30, Sprint iDEN customers won't be able to make emergency phone calls or any kind of call or  use any kind of data service.

Sprint stated it has been notifying customers to migrate from the iDEN Nextel National Network to avoid service disruptions.

Sprint, Boost & Virgin 4G LTE Launches in Los Angeles + 20 2Day-NOT

We were wondering we were asked to meet during with Sprint execs and reps on Wednesday when they were not making an announcement.  It seems LTE may be deployed in 21 places today, Friday for the Sprint network that also includes Boost and Virgin Mobile.

Sprint LTE can be as fast as 13Mbps down and 5.5Mbps uploading data. Sprint has overhauled its towers for increased capacity and more stable connections.  The leaked screenshot, however was incorrect.  It seems the deployment is taking longer than expected.  The screenshot may have been from a time when Sprint was planning for the deployment. Originally, Los Angeles was slated for the end of March, then there are the municipalities to deal with and other problems.  We expect a delayed announcement, at some point.
