Surface OprahIt's nice to be noticed and the new Windows 8 tablets cum snappy keyboards have gotten a blessing from the Mistress of Favorite Things, Oprah Winfrey. And if you are lucky you could win all of this years' favorites.

Oprah reported on her website that one her favorite things for 2012, the  Surface feels like a Mercedes-Benz, people!

"The full-size keyboard built right into the cover makes work easy, the very smart kickstand makes watching a movie or Skyping a friend a delight, the less than a pound-and-a-half weight makes a great alternative to a laptop, and the many other features make it fun for work and play."

The new  commercial which appears below shows how the Surface tablet works, the touchscreen easily connects to the keyboard while there's a lot of dancing.

Microsoft will be giving an announcement later this week, there may be a chance you can  reach a Surface before anyone else by going to Microsoft Store this Friday.  We called our local store and were told that they will have some Surface RT tablets in stock but the associate said he was not sure how many would be available on a first come, first served basis.

Tablet HabitsPew Internet and Journalism.org has taken a look at the way people read news on different devices.

Their surveys show an increase of Kindle Fire owners as well as iPad owners who use their tablets to read news, primarily through browsers. Consuming news is the popular use for tablets overage.

The iPad used to be the only tablet in town, now 52%, of tablet owners report owning an iPad, compared with 81% a year ago.   48%, now own an Android tablet; about half of them, 21% own Kindle Fires.

 Many of those surveyed revelaed that tablet owners are spending more time with news on their tablets.

Top Tablet StudyJ D Power announced the findings of its first tablet study Apple ranked highest, followed by the Amazon Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy Tabs, Acer, Barnes and Noble and the HP TouchPad! Many of the tablets appeared in WiMo News' top coolest tablets of 2011.
