HTC JetstreamAT&T has stopped subsidizing tablets bought with a contract.  According to leaked internal documents as  of August 19, yesterday, tablet will only have no-commitment contracts without a share plan.

Today, we checked on the AT&T website and all tablets are shown as "No service commitment."

The tablets, however, can be included int shared data plans  for an additional $10 a month. The data is shared across devices.  See plans below.

The firm also predicts that end of 2016, tablets with active cellular data subscriptions will represent 18 percent of the total tablets.

You can take Google maps wherever you go with new off-line maps."  Since the Nexus 7 is Wi-Fi only the offline mapping feature is needed. If you have GPS on the device, the blue dot will still work without a data connection so you know where you are. And what do you know the Nexus 7 has GPS while the Kindle Fire does not...
