Motorola Anti Ban Plans for Droid 2, Pro, X, X2, Flipout, Atrix & Xoom - No Xoom Ban in Germany

The United States International Trade Commission(ITC), ban on Motorola devices goes into effect on Wednesday brought on Microsoft. In Germany, a German court denied a  ban of the Motorola Xoom by Apple.

AP reported the Düsseldorf court dismissed Apple's request for a ban on the Motorola Xoom in Germany.

Meanwhile , the smartphones and tablets involved in the ITC ban are Atrix, Backflip, Bravo, Charm, Cliq, Cliq 2, Cliq XT, Defy, Devour, Droid 2, Droid 2 Global, Droid Pro, Droid X, Droid X2, Flipout, Flipside, Spice, and the Xoom tablet.

Sprint Galaxy NexusA preliminary ruling found that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus input fringes upon Apple iPhone patents.  The sale of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was banned in the United States until an appeal is heard.

Samsung fought back with an appeal stating there is "legally insufficient evidence" that Apple would be irreparably harmed.  Samsung also aksed Apple show any market losses that were substantial due to the infringing features.

The guy (Brian Hogan) who found the iPhone prototype in the bar was prosecuted, fined and sentenced.  Why is this information so important? Because stock market decisions depend on how well devices sell. If a trader knows sales figures before the public, he/she can buy low and sell high.  A information-leaker in New York has pleaded guilty and may spend two years in jail for supplying trade secrets.

Apple iPhone vs Samsung Galaxy S III (S3) Release Date 7/9 @ Verizon?

Apple has not been able to stop the release of the Samsung Galaxy S III(S3) in the United States which it claims infringes upon iPhone patents. A judge ruled that she would not be able schedule it.

So what does that mean to the general public?  The carriers will be able to continue with their current release dates (see list of release dates.)

The latest news on the Samsung Galaxy S III front is the Verizon Wireless website is showing "will ship by 7/9." In the past, the ship date is usually the release date or the day before the release date for a smartphone from Verizon Wireless.

UPDATE 6/14/2012 12:08 PM PDT:  Verizon Wireless has changed the "will ship by" date to 7/10 which could mean that it has sold-out of previous stock or someone at Verizon read this article and fixed the date.  Whatever it means the Samsung Galaxy S III will be out in July from Verizon Wireless.

Best Use of Phone Camera So Far in Classrooms in Texas?

When the cell phone camera was first introduced, and analysts told me that a good use of it would be to take a photo of your car where you parked it so that you could find your car in the parking lot when you came back.  After driving through four floors on a parking structure, when I couldn't find my car, I wished I had taken a photo of my parking space.  Today educators in in Texas support a far greater use for a cell phone camera, take photos of misbehaving students.
