MetroFi, a provider of free ad-supported and premium no-ad supptorted WiFi services told
subscribers in California and Illinois that it will be shutting down its
service on June 20. Users are encouraged to
remove the MSN SideGuide application from their computers.
There are reports that nodes are for sale for $135 in CA and other cities are up for sale. The nodes are on street lamps.
They refer former subscribers to http://www.wififreespot.com/ to look for other free options.
