Support for Android 2.0 has been added to the Android SDK, in time for tomorrow's Droid announcement.
There are some major changes to Android 2.0 which users will love:
- The most beloved aspect for business users is Microsoft Exchange Support for syncing email.
- Facebook
users will like the integrated Facebook support that syncs to Facebook
contacts. - The browser is improved with double-tap to zoom and
speeds similar to iPhone 3GS.
- Quick Contact for Android provides instant access to
a contact's information and communication modes. For example, a user can tap a
contact photo and select to call, SMS, or email the person. Other applications
such as Email, Messaging, and Calendar can also reveal the Quick Contact widget
when you touch a contact photo or status icon. - Support for multiple Google and Exchange accounts.
- API "sync adapters" allow apps to sync with phone.
- Improved keyboard layout that supports multi-touch and a learning dictionary to correct typos.
- Combined email inbox.
- SMS and MMS search.
- Improved camera controls with white balance, macro, effects and digital zoom.
- Bluetooth 2.1 support with addition of OPP and PBAP profiles
- Enhanced graphics hardware acceleration.
- Calendar
agenda view provides infinite scrolling,vents indicate the attending
status for each invite and you can invite new guests to events.
