Droid smartphones are landing and soon will be updating and upgrading. The official Verizon support page for the Droid X shows the details of a pending upgrade to 1.13.604 that speeds up processes and adds Kindle support.
There have been rumors that some Droid Incredible smartphones are getting an update. Typically Verizon tests a very few users by sending an update, then it rolls out in larger numbers over time.
Update 7/19/2010: Although some Droid Incredible owners received an update, which we suspect was a test. Today’s rumors suggest an end of July update of the Droid Incredible to the full-blown FroYo Android 2.2. We can’t confirm with Verizon what the actual launch of the update will be.
The two major enhances to this update is mobile hotspot capabilities (like the Droid X) and ability to
record 720p HD video. The mobile hotspot feature cost $20 a month for 2GB of data. Other improvements are expected to be bug fixes, Skype, MyVerizon app, widget changes, and a DROID

eye animation when the phone starts.
We have a demo unit of the Droid Incredible, and have received any
update notices. We checked under “Home” > “Menu” > “Settings” >
“About phone” > “System
updates” and it says, “Your system is currently up to date.”
Once the update is officially released by Verizon, you can use the above
method to download yourself.
The well-reviewed Droid Incredible continually sells-out and there is a
wait for shipping. Some Droid Incredible orderers have canceled their
orders for the Incredible to get a hard-to-get Droid X instead.
