Verizon New Android an' Droid Smartphones & Tablets on Sale 2Day: Citrus, Droid Pro, Samsung Continuum, Droid 2 Global & Samsung Galaxy Tab

GalaxyTabContinum.JPGToday is 11/11, and it's a big day for Verizon Wireless sales.  They have ramped up their line of Android and Droid smartphones and added free additional select phone offers.  New smartphones in the Verizon galaxy are the Motorola Citrus, Droid Pro and Samsung Continuum, and Droid 2 Global.  The Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet, also goes on sale today.

Here are the details of the new Android smartphones and tablet:

Motorola Citrus - an economy green Android 2.1 smartphone that sells for $49.99 after a rebate.  Features include a 524MHz processor, 3" touchscreen (240x320 QVGA), 3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.  Verizon has added Seven
email, My Verizon, Visual Voice Mail, Skype mobile, City ID, Back Up
Assistant, V Cast Tones, V CAST Video, VZ Navigator, Facebook and
MySpace.

Droid Pro - optimized for business with security
features, push corporate email unified calendars, QuickOffice Mobile
Suite, world coverage and a QWERTY keyboard.  The Droid Pro has a
1GHz processor, 4GB of memory
(2GB internal and 2GB removable), 5-megapixel camera with LED flash,
Wi-Fi, 3.1-inch touchscreen, DLNA connectivity and 3G mobile hotspots. 
$179.99 with contract after rebates.  Online presale started 11/9, on sale in stores 11/18.

Samsung Continuum
- Samsung Galaxy S Phone, powered by Android 2.1, running on a 1GHz
Hummingbird processor with two screens for multitasking. The Continuum features 384MB of RAM/512 MB Flash,
2GB of internal storage, and an 8GB microSD installed.  Other specs
include 3G data support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DivX video playback, 3.5mm
headset jack, 3G mobile hotspots, and a 5 megapixel 720p video-capable
camera with LED flash. Presale starts 11/11, in stores 11/18, priced at
$199.99 with a contract after rebates.

Droid 2 Global
- with the processor of the Verizon Android pack this global Android
2.2 Droid smartphone has a TI OMAP 1.2GHz processor, 3.7-inch
touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 8GB of internal memory, and
an 8GB preinstalled microSD card.  It has Quad Band GSM capabilities in
over 200 countries.  The Droid 2 Global
comes in black or white.  Features include stereo Bluetooth, mobile
hotspots, visual voice mail, Skype Mobile, DLNA connectivity,
BlockBuster mobile, V CAST, Wi-Fi, GPS, and enhanced security.  On sale now for at $199 with a contract after a rebate.

Samsung Galaxy Tab - Samsung Galaxy S tablet powered by the Android 2.2 platform, with a 7-inch enhanced TFT touchscreen, 1GHz Hummingbird processor,
support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1, Media Hub (for TV and movie
viewing) and Samsung Social Hub.  The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a 3.0 megapixel rear-facing camera
and 1.3 front-facing camera for video calling.  The battery can handle
up to seven hours of video play.  It's priced at $599.99 with no data plan required. 

On Monday, a Samsung marketing officer suggested that there may be a shortage of Samsung AMOLED screens.  Some popular smartphones have been known to sell-out over the holidays.
