Appcelerator Partners with Verizon for V CAST Android & BlackBerry Apps

DLOAD_create.pngAppcelerator recently announced that Verizon Wireless will team with
Appcelerator's Titanium Platform, enabling Web developers to use their
JavaScript skills to develop mobile applications for Verizon Wireless
customers.

Titanium is a platform for rapidly developing native
mobile, desktop, and iPad applications using web programming.  By
integrating with Verizon Wireless, millions of web developers worldwide
will be able to create native mobile apps for Android, BlackBerry
and other operating systems using a single platform, and will be able to distribute and
sell them through V CAST Apps and Verizon Wireless' mobile storefront.

Verizon Wireless will continue to strengthen this relationship by
looking to integrate support of Verizon Wireless APIs, including
SMS/MMS, location kits, assisted GPS, and device presence/status, with
Titanium.

Titanium's 90,000 plus developers worldwide publish more than 1,300
new apps per month in addition to building apps.  Developers can also extend
the capabilities of the Titanium platform by building their own features
and APIs.  Recent Titanium extensions include Titanium+Geo (for
geo-analytics) and Titanium+Commerce (integrated with PayPal).

"Verizon Wireless is clearly leading wireless application development
in a number of ways," says Jeff Haynie, chief executive officer of
Appcelerator.  "By integrating with Titanium's open-source mobile
development platform, Verizon Wireless is encouraging the huge untapped
base of Web developers to create mobile apps for V CAST Apps."

"We are always seeking outstanding partners to help our developers
create successful mobile apps, and we're excited to have Appcelerator on
board," said Todd Murphy, director, V CAST Apps at Verizon Wireless.
"Appcelerator's Titanium platform helps enable native mobile app
creation at a fraction of the cost-to-market than was possible
previously."

Appcelerator's Titanium SDK Platform is available free with different pricing for support options.
