As part of the five-star Android invasion today. AT&T has made Android AVAILable to prepaid plans with the AT&T Avail.
The AT&T Avail is made by ZTE and should be affordable. Features include a 3.5" touchscreen, 5MP autofocus camera with video recording, Android 2.3 "Gingerbread," and 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, 2 GB microSD card, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Data access is through the EDGE network only. The AT&T Avail works with the AT&T Go Phone service with no annual contract or credit check. It is not clear if it will work with the unlimited talk, text and web plan for $50 a month. There are other Android GoPhone eligible so it could be possible.
The LG Thrive was the first prepaid Android GoPhone and can use the $50 unlimited prepaid plan.
