Smartphones go through a lot of name changes the HTC ChaCha became the HTC Status and then there are code names in between. Th latest leak screenshots refer to the Nexus Prime coming to Verizon Wireless as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
The Best Buy Cellbrite system screenshot shows the SCH-i515 as the Nexus Prime (Android).
The internal Verizon screenshot shows the name Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the usual features for most smartphones on the Verizon Network.
Google's Andy Rubin is expected to announce the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, aka Nexus Prime next week on Octobber 18 in Hong Kong.
The specs are very close to the Samsung Galaxy S II which may explain why Verizon passed on that Samsung model.
Suspected specs of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus "Droid" Prime include:
- The Nexus Prime will have a Super AMOLED touchscreen which may be as large as 4.65" with a resolution of 1280 x 720p.
- It will be coming from Verizon Wireless first and then to other carriers.
- It most likely will use the 4G LTE network.
- 1.2GHz dual-core processor.
- 1GB RAM.
- 5MP camera with HD 1080 video recording.
- 1750mAH battery.
- We know for sure it will have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth because it has been certified.
