The release date of the quad-core Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime was delayed. Now according to a NewEgg preorder page it could have a December 8 release date. The preorder page shows December 8 as the release date.
The 32GB Asus Transformer Prime list price is $499, which is the price of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (16GB) or the iPad 2 (16GB). The list price is $599 for a 64GB model. The matching keyboard is expected to cost $149.99.
The Asus Transformer Prime is 8.3mm thin and weighs 586g, which is a bit heavier than the Tab 10.1, but lighter than the iPad 2.
Features include, mini-HDMI output, microSD slot, 1280 x 800, Super IPS+ Gorilla Glass touchscreen, 1GB of RAM, GPS, gyroscope, SonicMaster audio, 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera and 8MP camera with 1080p video recording.
The Asus Transformer Prime comes in two colors - metallic swirled Amethyst Gray and Champagne Gold and has a special clip /clasp to hold the two pieces together
The Asus Transformer Primee has a battery life of up to 12 hours, but when combined with the mobile dock, it lasts up to an incredible 18 hours.
The hydro-oleophobic coating makes it more fingerprint-resistant. Preliminary reviewers call it a "killer device" that is "dressed to impress".
