  • Amazon has purchased voice-text tech company Yap.
  • Adobe will no longer support or develop Flash for mobile and will concentrate on HTML 5.
  • RIMs new BlackBerry BBX smartphones will have 16:9 ratio and 1024-by-600 screens, the same as the BlackBerry PlayBook, to make app development easier.
  • Apple's Siri will not support older iPhones and iOS iPods.
  • 16 year-old Austin Wierschke from Rhinelander, WI i won the fifth-annual LG U.S. National Texting Championship. Austin was presented with a check for $50,000 by actress and avid texter, Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical, Hellcats) and was named the 2011 LG U.S. National Texting Champion.
