Some nice boys and girls will not be happy when they look for the Asus Transformer Prime tablets under their Christmas trees. Some preorders have been canceled and online retailers are out-of-stock, which makes everyone want them even more.
Although Asus confirmed, yesterday, via Twitter, ": Pre-orders for the #TransformerPrime starting to be fulfilled this week. Inventory set to reach normal levels in January." It has been reported in the U.K. delivery of the 64GB model has been delayed until January. There are also delays in Canada. Amazon.com is offering a $10 gift card and expected ship dates as late as December 22. Amazon.com also cancelled some preorders.
Amazon.com was taking preoders for the Asus Transformer Prime again(today) and then pulled the super tablets from online ordering, leaving acessories only. When we called our local Best Buy store, the associate didn't have an ETA. The Best Buy website shows it "Coming soon."

On Friday, Asus posted new photos of the Asus Transformer Prime next to the Zen Book and is giving away gifts on its Facebook wall.
The Asus Transformer Prime has a quad-core processor, is 8.3mm thin and weighs 586g, which is a bit heavier than the Tab 10.1, but lighter than the iPad 2. Features include, mini-HDMI output, microSD slot, 1280 x 800, Super IPS+ Gorilla Glass touchscreen, 1GB of RAM, GPS, gyroscope, SonicMaster audio, 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera and 8MP camera with 1080p video recording. There is special keyboard dock that turns it into a what looks like a Zenbook.
For those who must have a have an unlimited supply of money you find some on eBay for as much as $949 ending on December 23. Sometimes, somethings are worth the wait.
I'm having second thoughts on the Prime. There really isn't much software that can take advantage of it yet and by the time there is, the Tegra 4 or Tegra 5 tablets will be released for the same price or maybe even less.
The original transformer can be had for $150 less than the Prime. I'm thinking about getting one of these instead.
Gamestop has emailed me notifying me that they just shipped my Transformer Prime 32GB Amethyst model a few hours ago. I should get it in approximately 13 hours from now.
