LG Optimus Elite Earth Day Green with Free 50GB of Cloud

The LG Optimus Elite will be available in Titan Silver and White on Earth Day – Sunday, April 22 for $29.99 with a contract after a rebate. Also going on sale Sunday is the presale sold-out Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G LTE.

The successor to the popular LG Optimus S, it features Android 2.3, Gingerbread, a3.5-inch touchscre, 800 MHz processor, 5 MP,  hotspot capability supporting  andNear Field Communication (NFC) for payments at stores like Bloomingdales, Toys “R” Us, CVS, Gap, Macy’s and more. This is the first device in the Virgin Mobile USA line-up to support NFC and Google Wallet.

It comes with Box and 50GB of free cloud storage  for files, music, files and  photos until July 22.

The LG Optimus Elite  has UL Environment Platinum Certification and many green features. Other green features include}:

  • A case made of 50 percent recycled plastics.
  • It is RoHS compliant is free from many potentially hazardous materials, such as PVC, phthalates, halogens and mercury.
  • The charge exceeds the EC Code of Conduct on energy efficiency when it comes to no-load consumption. It consumes 0.03 watts of power when plugged into a wall socket without being connected to the phone.
  • The boxes are made of recycled material.

The LG Optimus Elite  will become available in additional channels, including Sprint retail, on May 18. Timing and pricing for the device on Virgin Mobile USA will be announced shortly.
