Every year, since Wireless and Mobile(WiMo) News was started, we have observed what generally happens on Black Friday and what deals are the best around. We are currently scouring sources to give the best deals closer to Black Friday, Cyber Monday and beyond. Here's what we've been able to figure out so far.
Samsung products are going to highly discounted and the best deal will be for the Samsung Galaxy S III. T-Mobile will offer it in stores for free tomorrow and Saturday. We've already seen Black Friday flyers showing the Samsung Galaxy S III going for around $50 or less with contract, we will give you details of online deals, next week.
We also suspect some recently launched smartphones to be free or penny from Amazon.com but don't know which models, yet. We also suspect that Amazon will offer some kind of freebie bundle such as free apps.
Buy one get one discounts will prevail, at carriers, such as AT&T.
Once again, tablets were be a hot gift item. There are variety of tablets recently launched that will fit the gift bills. Since tablets from Google Nexus and Amazon Kindle are already competitively priced we don't expect big reductions. We do suspect some kind of bundle offer from Amazon.com. There will be some kind of tablet deal, if you know how to look for it. iPad will not be reduced, you may only be able to get some sort of gift card with a purchase.
Some offers will be so enticing, people will wait in line and fight inside to get the deals. The best deals usually wind up saving around $5o. Your pain and suffering are not worth it in our opinion.
People will be confused and not realize that most online Black Friday offers will still be available on Cyber Monday.
Some carriers will extend return policies over the holidays. Last year, Verizon Wireless posted this:
"Purchases made between November 15 and December 28, 2011 may be returned or exchanged through January 15, 2012. All other provisions of Verizon Wireless’ Return & Exchange Policy continue to apply, including Restock Fee."
We are checking with Verizon to see if the same policy will go into effect this year.
Even though shoppers will have over an entire month to buy presents this year, many shoppers will wait to the absolute last moment to buy.
The week after Christmas there we be even better deals, if you know where to look.
