Next Nexus 4/5 Coming -Moto X XFON Nixed 4 Now or Droid?

We're getting closer to see what Google and Motorola will be producing in the coming months.  There have been new Nexus 4/5 LTE and Motorola X (XFON) reports as we approach Google I/O.

LG Megalodon Nexus 4 LTE or Nexus 5?

LG is reportedly working on the next Nexus 4/5.  Some retailers in the U.K.  have taken Nexus 4 off the shelves and are not stocking them. Google's retail locator for the Nexus 4 shows limited retail availability. This lead the conjecturatti to contend that there will be a new Nexus soon.

New Nexus 4, 5 11If we rollback a few weeks, we discovered that the next Nexus 4 was reported to be an enhanced Nexus 4 with LTE access, 32GB of RAM, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and maybe with CDMA access. The CDMA has been reported for Sprint, later this year, not for Verizon Wireless.

If we follow previous launches of major Nexus phones like the  Samsung Galaxy Nexus(12/2011) and Nexus 4 (11/15/2012), the models were announced in the fall.  The trend with all major makers is that they have their top models in time for the holiday buying season. The Nexus 5 may be slated for a fall announcement and early-winter release date.

Motorola X Phone X-ed by Google Glitchers

The motorious Motorola X phone, seems like it either it never got off the drawing board or bored Google execs.

The Motorola X appeared in job ads and then rumors turned it into a dream phone that was dirt-cheap, feature-packed and worked unlocked with CDMA for Verizon Wireless. Now it looks like the dreams of the Motorola X phone have gone up in smoke.

While we are waiting for Google I/O  announcements, some analysts reported that Google axed the Motorola X because it wasn't great enough for the Google product lines. Google reportedly returned the Motorola X back to designers for testing because it did not "wow."

Another source, stated that the Motorola X , called XFON will still be released and be released on all US carriers and be announced at Google I/O. There were claims that the XFON has shown in benchmark tests. Some contend that the Motorola XT1058 for AT&T that was found in FCC documents could be the XFON.

Meanwhile Rumors of Spectacular Specs of the XFON inclue:

  • 5" touchscreen.
  • Snapdragon S4 1.7GHZ.
  •  IP57 certified (water proofing).
  • 3500mAh battery, non removable.
  • 10 MP camera.
  • 16 or 32 GB versions .
  • 2GB RAM.
  • VOLTE capable.

Motorola has made many of the Droid phones for Verizon the Droid, Droid X, Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX HD.  Maybe the Motorola X is in the same family of the Droid X....Motorola.

Google-Eyed for I/O Announcements

There have also been reports of a new faster Nexus 7 tablet and huge Nexus 11. We will know about the next Nexus at Google I/O where a new Android updates,  new tablets, maps, Google Glass and more may be announced. Until then, we can dream of the best possible devices, ever, for now.
